Today's Fall trend is a nail combination known as the reverse french mani. It is basically just a spin off of the original french manicure and uses fun colors. I got my inspiration from this photo I saw in one of my fashion magazines.
It's super easy to recreate, so here is what you will need:
Burgundy Nail Polish Gold Metallic Nail Polish Top or Clear Coat Tape or Paper Circle Reinforcers Scissors |
You will want to start off with clean nails so make sure there is no polish on them. Begin by adding a base coat to your nails or just start to paint the burgundy color on your nails. The polish I am using is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in 210 Flirt. It is the perfect burgundy color, and I would definitely recommend it for this tutorial. Your nails should look a little something like this...
You want to make sure your nails have dried completely before moving on. Take either your tape or paper reinforcers and begin placing them right below the tip of your nail. If you are using tape, cut off a small piece and stick it on your nail. If you are using the paper reinforcers, simply take one and cut it in half and then place it right below the tip of your nail. I chose to use the circle stickers (as I prefer to call them) because I felt they were a bit easier to deal with.
Now take your tip color, whatever that may be, and paint away! I'm using a beautiful gold metallic color, just like they used in the photo. It is from the brand ELF and is in the color Moonlight. The stickers/tape definitely make this process so much easier and enjoyable! Feel free to apply as many coats as you need to get your desired color.
Once the tip color is completely dry, it's time for the moment of truth...take off the stickers and see how lovely your nails look! If you need to do any touch-ups, now is the time! If you are happy with the way they look, then finish off with your favorite top coat.
And there you have it! You now have super trendy nails for the Fall. You can also play around with the placement of your metallic color. You can do a half moon by your cuticle for an even edgier look. I personally love the way it looks. Well, I hope you all give this nail tutorial a try, and feel free to experiment with different colors. Have an awesome day :)
